Spotted during a leisurely luncheon stroll….
This #GenerocityCleveland meter located at the Intersection of E. 9th St. and St. Clair. (Across the street from the IMG Building)
I just had to do some research and learn who was behind this briliant PR Strategy.  Turns out to be the Downtown Cleveland Alliance, the city of Cleveland and the downtown-Cleveland faith based community..

Meanwhile, across the way from the South River Vineyard, Nick found Geneva’s newest watering hole, The Red Eagle Distillery, where he immediately went to work “reclaiming his masculinity” by pounding 1 ounce shots of local bourbon and rye ….

I know, I know, 1 ounce doesn’t sound like much, but at a buck a piece, it’s even cheaper than the wine, and according to Nick, much more “efficient”.

He’s a bloodhound I’m tellin’ ya… sniffin out the hard stuff among the scent of sweet wine grapes…..  Old dog nose Worner….

Happy Memorial Day…

the unofficial kick-off to summer has arrived….. and what better way to celebrate than with a short day Trip…….

50 Minutes East of Downtown Cleveland sits Geneva…a childhood staple of my youth…. and a region surrounded by grapevines and wineries…. (a staple of my adulthood)

Oh how quickly my ice cream memories can be replaced by Sweet Niagara…..

Best starting point on the excursion….. South River Vineyard… a restored historic church that boasts some breathtaking views….

Just wait for it cheapies….

While a flight of four will cost you $6 and a bottle will go for around $16, this sipping spot actually allows patrons to bring food in….

That’s right… grab the friends, split the wine, and smile as you devour all of the cheese, grapes and chocolate that you were able to fit in your picnic basket…  At cost!   (*Bread and Cheese Plates also available for Purchase.)

Once done… Walk the grounds and then surprise your male companions by heading next door to the newest spot in town Red Eagle Distillery… That’s right… wine country just got interesting…..

*For further information on hours, events and general rules, be sure to check out the FAQ’s site prior to visting…. http://www.southrivervineyard.com/Events_FAQs.html

Look no further for Cleveland’s best Salad and Slice….

For $5.50, this vegetable/grease duo is available in the heart of Tremont  at Edison’s Pub….

Not even authentic Chicago deep dish slices fill me up like this combo does….  and when I really want to push my buttons.. (my pant buttons) I top off my meal with some free popcorn dessert …

Added bonus for the outdoor patio…. hard to pass this up when looking for casual/cheap/delicious summer fare…

*Sorry lunchers… kitchen doesn’t open till 4:00 p.m.
