Florence and the Machine…. Free from the Flats
How excited I was to learn that Florence and the Machine was coming to Cleveland…. Though a one time concert lover, those youthful days have long passed, but on the rarest of rare occasions, even I am still willing to shell out cash to see a worthy artist….(Madonna 2012 World Tour Here I Come!!) So you can imagine my disappointment when I actually committed to purchasing tickets to this event only to go online and quickly learn that it had sold out…
“You gotta be kidding me,” I thought to myself… “When do I ever want to go see a concert” (Exception….Madonna 2012 World Tour Here I Come!)
Lucky for me, all was not lost…. My evening was salvaged by an initial nightcap at the Bingham where I was able to view the Jacobs Pavilion stage from the high-rise apartment window…… A few minutes later we were taking a short walk down W. 9th St. to St.Clair and finally onto the East Bank of the Flats where we, along with a handful of onlookers, sat waterfront across the river with a perfect, (Free) view of the stage. And though it was difficult to make out Florence, we had no problem hearing that magical voice…
A pretty amazing evening with a total cost of $0…. (free meter after 6:00 p.m.!) Who can complain about that….
