Living Well on Next to Nothing, In Cleveland

Happy Hour is a Definite Go at E. 4th St. Chianto!

When a girlfriend told me that Chianto offered an affordable happy hour menu I couldn’t believe it….

Why… the thought of an affordable dining experience at a joint like this seemed pretty far fetched…Not only was this one of the elite E. 4th dining destinations, it was also owned by Zack Bruell, one of Cleveland’s most prestigious chefs and restauranteer (Parallax, Table 45, L’Abatros, Cowell & Hubbard)  A combination that was sure to equal big bucks….

But, the E. 4th St. 50/50 Art Show provided Nick and I with the perfect opportunity to take on this dining dare…

“Let’s give Chianto a try” I said… “I heard they have a pretty amazing Happy Hour”

Within minutes we learned that the myth was true… those willing to dine in the front of the house (M-F from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. and 9:00 to close) could choose from a variety of discounted drinks and foods….

Our Selection:

  • Featured Red Wine $5
  • Featured Beer $3
  • Bread & Oil  $Free
  • Appetizer Supplee $6 (*Tiny but incredible tasting fish selection)
  • Sausage Sandwich with Fontina Cheese and Roasted Peppers /fries $8 (*Great size, great taste)

Overall great happy hour selection and dining experience

*Note.. though we managed to grab the last available booth… Happy Hour reservations are still heavily recommended
