Having heard a lot of good things about the Waterloo Arts District, the emerging arts scene in Collinwood, I decided it was time to take the 25 minute drive eastward and explore this ethnic little town.

Unfortunately, I visited early enough in the day that the infamous Beachland Ballroom had not yet opened for business. With that said, it also prevented me from visiting the vintage shop located in the basement of the venue.

Despite this setback, all was not lost…

I finally got to visit the local community arts center, its gallery and cafe, and various retail stores including Native, a little shop with a big fan following that features locally made Cleveland clothing, decor and artworks.

But perhaps the best part of my journey, was stumbling upon the unexpected… A spiral walkway, a van wrapped in plastic, a Slovenian tavern and…..wait for it…. wait for it…… a Yo-Yo Club…
